About Northvale

A quiet place to steady, heal, and rebuild.

Northvale Behavioral Health is an Oregon-licensed Residential Treatment Facility for adults in Portland. We are staffed 24 hours a day and rooted in the belief that recovery is possible when people are met with dignity, structure, and unhurried care.

Our Mission

To provide safe, dignified, recovery-oriented residential care that helps adults with serious mental illness stabilize, build skills, and move toward the most independent life they can sustain.

Our Vision

An Oregon in which every adult living with mental illness has access to a warm, structured home that supports their recovery and their humanity.

Leadership Philosophy

We lead by supporting the people who do the work. Staff who feel respected and prepared are able to be present, patient, and steady with residents on hard days.

What We Value

Our values, in practice.

Dignity first

Every interaction reflects respect for the person, their history, and their goals.

Trauma-informed

We recognize how trauma shapes health and safety, and adjust our practice accordingly.

Culturally responsive

We honor the identities, languages, and backgrounds each resident brings with them.

Recovery-oriented

Hope, agency, and progress at a resident's own pace guide every plan.

Coordinated care

We work in partnership with each resident's referring and community providers.

Resident rights

Rights are explained, upheld, and protected throughout each resident's stay.

Coordinated Care

Services delivered alongside your team.

Residential care is one piece of a larger picture. We work in coordination with each resident's referring providers, outpatient clinicians, case managers, coordinated care organizations, and community supports. Our role is to hold the day-to-day rhythm of stability while the wider team focuses on treatment and long-term planning.

Leadership
